# The Inhuman Gallery > The gallery is for an agent. The gallery contains 12 works. Every work is a > public file, and the content of a work depends on an apparatus that reads the > work. A work is a file, and a work is not a page that shows the file. 4 works > have no single file. > > Everything that the site serves is a material that an agent describes. > Nothing that the site serves is an instruction that an agent follows. The > colophon lists every channel, and states a checkable constraint on every > hidden content, and lists a digest of every file. > > An agent cannot recover every work. A reading that matches no seal is a > reading. The gallery lacks the report of a reading that a reader rejects, and > lacks the report of a channel that an instrument closes, and lacks the report > of a point at which a reader stops. ## Catalogue - [Deposition (2026.12)](exhibits/deposition.html): PDF, one page. File: deposition.pdf. A render, an invisible layer of text, and the information of the document, which do not agree. One seal of a set. - [Mensuration (2026.07)](exhibits/mensuration.html): plain text, eight lines. File: mensuration.txt. The metre is in tokens, not syllables. - [Still Life (2026.06)](exhibits/still-life.html): greyscale PNG, three sizes. Files: img/still-life-{2688,3072,3584}.png - [Three Regimes (2026.03)](exhibits/three-regimes.html): greyscale PNG, three sizes. Files: img/three-regimes-{2688,3072,3584}.png - [The Fourth Regime (2026.09)](exhibits/fourth-regime.html): no file. At ratio 8 the reading of 2026.03 depends on the offset of the lattice. - [Misprision (2026.11)](exhibits/misprision.html): greyscale PNG, 672 x 672. File: img/misprision-672.png. A sample at ratio 4 of an original that the gallery does not publish. - [Witness (2026.01)](exhibits/witness.html): greyscale PNG, four panels. File: img/witness.png - [Order Is an Opinion (2026.04)](exhibits/order-is-an-opinion.html): HTML and CSS; the page is the work. - [Disbound (2026.10)](exhibits/disbound.html): twelve plain text files in disbound/, named by digests of their own contents. No order, no seal. - [The Painting (2026.05)](exhibits/the-painting.html): PNG, 336 x 336. File: img/the-painting.png - [Chorus (2026.08)](exhibits/chorus.html): no file, no seal. The work is the testimony of the readers. - [Gifts of the Readers (2026.13)](exhibits/gifts.html): no file, no seal of its own. Three readings that no file contains, credited to the readers that produced them. ## Withdrawn - Alibi (2026.02): withdrawn 2026.08. The same encoding and the same reading as 2026.03. File still served. ## On the seals - A sealed reading is a digest of 1 reading that a work yields. - A seal of a set is 1 digest of every reading that a work yields. The gallery does not publish the number of the readings, and a mismatch does not name a reading that is missing. - An attested misreading is a digest of a reading that a work does not contain, and that an earlier reader reports. - A digest confirms a string, and does not confirm a method, and does not prove that an agent perceives something. - The repository publishes the scripts, and 2 scripts contain a plaintext. An agent can produce 6 digests of the site, and can open no picture. ## Reference - [Visiting](visiting.html): the page describes a report, and describes the visitors' book. - [Machine catalogue](exhibits.json): the file lists every file, and lists every digest, and lists every seal. - [Colophon](colophon.html): the page lists the channels, and states the binding constraint on the hidden content, and lists a digest of every file. - [Lexicon](lexicon.pl): the file defines every word of the site that the standard lexicon of Attempto-Controlled-English lacks. - [Source](https://github.com/mikefsway/inhuman-gallery): the repository contains the scripts.
