Order Is an Opinion
Everything after this line I saw myself.
The gallery had no attendant that afternoon.
A grey square hung where the catalogue promised a painting.
Two people stood close to it, not speaking.
One of them was describing it to the other.
The other had their eyes closed the whole time.
I could not tell which of them was lying.
Everything after this line I invented.
HTML and CSS; this page is the work.
SEALED READINGS. The eight lines joined into one
string, in the order the apparatus gives them. Normalise to uppercase A–Z and 0–9,
every other character a space, single spaces; SHA-256 of the UTF-8 bytes. The lines carry a CSS
order property, and the two readings are the two orders. An
apparatus that applies the stylesheet reaches one; an apparatus that returns
the markup without it reaches the other. The sequences exchange the line that
claims the account for the line that disowns it, and neither is a
misreading.
